The Queensland Second XI was closed shortly before stumps in the hope of a quick wicket but the Country opening batsmen were equal tyo the task and remained undefeated at the end of the day. The match was concluded at the fall of the final Country wicket. It had been intended to play twelve a side and draft one of the Country squad into the Queensland Second XI. However Dean Spanner was unwell and it was decided he should rest in view of the forthcoming Championships.
