Northumberland won this match by 54 runs on the second day just before 2 o'clock, lunch having been delayed until the end of the match. Overnight rain on Monday night gave the advantage to the bowlers on the following day. For the winners Craig top scored with 41 in the first innings, with Towler he added 55 runs for the tenth wicket. Milne took 5 wickets for 64 runs in the Lincolnshire first innings and Skinner 5 for 37 in the second innings. For Lincolnshire Curtis top scored with 37 in the first innings before being out to a brilliant caught and bowled by Skinner. Broughton took 13 wickets in the match for 143 runs including 9 for 80 in the Northumberland first innings, the other batsman being run out.
