Kent 2nd XI won this return match by 208 runs soon after 4 pm on the second day. The match between the two sides at Exeter in July had been won by Kent. For the winners Sarel was the top-scorer in both innings, his 136 was scored in 2 hours and 25 minutes and contained 21 fours whilst his innings of 73 contained 10 fours. Troughton's 53 contained 8 fours, Collins' 55 9 fours, and Snowden scored 50. In the Kent first innings Troughton and Sarel added 124 for the first wicket and Sarel and Snowden added 116 for the second wicket. In the second innings Sarel and Collins added 121 for the fourth wicket in 70 minutes. For Devon Robinson took 10 wickets in the match for 153 runs, including 6 for 111 in the first Kent innings. Preedy took 9 wickets in the match for 239 runs, including 5 for 100 in the second Kent innings. In the Devon second innings Scott and Aston added 51 for the last wicket in 30 minutes.
