Cambridgeshire won by 330 runs at 3.30 pm on the second day. For the winners, Coulson took 11 wickets in the match, including 8 for just 5 runs in the Norfolk first innings. There were 2 sixes, 15 fours, and 4 threes in Ling's 128, an innings of 100 minutes, and 1 six, 17 fours, 2 threes and 5 twos in Watts's 100 not out, scored in 85 minutes. In the Cambridgeshire first innings, Reid carried his bat with 75 not out, an innings of 2ΒΌ hours containing 2 fours. Newspaper reports state that in the Cambridgeshire second innings Watts and Bocock added 99 runs in 38 minutes for the seventh wicket. For Norfolk, Gibson took 11 wickets in the match for 165 runs. Garnier top-scored with 38. Newspaper reports referred to the shortness of the boundaries at the Newmarket ground.
