Surrey 2nd XI won this return match by an innings and 29 runs on the first day. The encounter between the two sides at Wolverton in June had also been won by Surrey. For the winners, Platt took 14 wickets in the match for 42 runs, including 7 for 19 in the first innings and 7 for 23 in the second. Vigar top-scored for the home team with 38. For the losers, Faulkner top-scored with 20. This was the first Championship match played on the Horley ground.
