Wiltshire won this return match, which was Smith's benefit match, by 301 runs shortly before 4.00 pm on the second day. The match between the two sides at Bletchley in July had also been won by Wiltshire. For the winners, there were 24 fours in C S Awdry's 160, an innings of just under two hours. He scored 64 in the second innings, and his match run aggregate of 224 was the second higest of the season.
Perkins scored 62 and Grant 50. Smith took 10 wickets in the match for 106 runs. In the Wiltshire second innings, the run rate was 135 runs per hour. For the losers, Leat top-scored with 49. The 227 runs conceded in the match by Wilson was the second highest of the season. Perkins ended the match by taking two wickets with consecutive balls.
