Glamorgan won this return
match by 2 wickets on the second day after enforcing the follow-on. The match between the two teams at Blandford earlier in July had also been won by Glamorgan. Glamorgan had to score 117 runs for victory. When the eighth wicket fell, the home side still needed 17 runs to win, but Gibbs and Creber saw them home. For the winners, there were 6 fours in Smith's 69 and 4 fours in Sweet-Escott's 69 and in the first innings Smith and Gibbs added 107 for the third wicket. For Dorset, Arundell's 102 contained 9 fours and 8 threes. He opened the batting and was the last wicket to fall. Browne's 73 not out included 9 fours and Greenhill's 50 6 fours. In the Dorset first innings, Browne and Stacey added 51 runs for the ninth wicket, and in the second innings Arundell and Leny
added 50 for the seventh wicket and Arundell and Hodges 52 for the eighth.
