Drawn match with Yorkshire 2nd XI winning on first innings after enforcing the follow-on. The match was badly interrupted by the weather on both days. Rain stopped play 1½ hours early on the first day and prevented a start until shortly after 3.00 pm on the second. For the home side, there were 12 fours in Rudston's 89, scored in 170 minutes. Rudston and Roebuck added 100 runs for the sixth wicket. W Tolson was an original member of the Durham team but strained leg muscles during the Yorkshire 2nd XI innings when attempting to stop 'a hot drive' close to the boundary shortly before lunch. The Yorkshire Captain allowed Fairley to take his place.
