This return match was drawn with Berkshire winning by just 1 run on first innings. Dorset had won the match between the two sides at Poole in July. For the home team, there were 11 fours in Barrett's 74, and 5 fours in Barker's 69 not out, scored in 4 hours and 20 minutes. In the Berkshire first innings, Barker and Barrett put on 136 runs for the sixth wicket. Peake and Barker added 64 runs for the eighth wicket. For the visitors, Sewell scored 77 with 9 fours, Crimmins 54 and Arundell 51. Sewell and Battrick put on 53 runs for the seventh wicket.
