This match was completed in a single day, after rain had prevented a start on the Monday. Surrey 2nd XI won by 46 runs shortly before 6.30 pm on the second day, despite delaying the start of the Dorset second innings by two hours. Surrey 2nd XI completed the 'double' over Dorset having won when the two teams met at Weymouth in July. For Dorset it was there sixth loss in seven matches. The match aggregate of 240 runs for a completed match was the second lowest of the season.
