This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Rain prevented play on the second day of this drawn return match. The match between the two sides at Dunstable in June had also been drawn. For Staffordshire, Burns top-scored with 37 and Bourne took 6 wickets for 62 runs in the Bedfordshire innings. For the home team, Moss took 7 wickets for 31 runs in the Staffordshire first innings. Orr's 36 was the Bedfordshire highest score. [An alternative version to this score based on Staffordshire sources attributes to Thring one over bowled by Oclee, off which 2 runs were scored. Bedfordshire sources give the runs conceded by Thring as 21 which is one run in excess.]
