Wiltshire won this return game at 5.05 pm on the second day by an innings and 33 runs, after enforcing the follow on.
They thus completed the double over Devon, having won when the two teams met the week before at Trowbridge.
For the winners Smart took 11 wickets in the match for 202 runs.
The 202 runs conceded equalled the record for the Championship by L Parbury for Bedfordshire against Oxfordshire at Luton earlier in the day.
There were 21 fours in Overton's 109.
Steven's 67 included 1five and 10 fours and Awdry's 50 contained 9 fours.
In the Wiltshire innings, Overton and Newman put on 157 runs for the tenth wicket in 80 minutes, which was a new record for the Championship, exceeding the unbroken 118 partnership between H Taunton and W Overton for Wiltshire against Monmouthshire in the previous match at Newport.
The Wiltshire total of 491 and the match aggregate of 949 runs were both the third highest of the season.
Sandford's 164 for Devon, an innings of nearly 4 hours, contained 2 sixes, 1 five, 20 fours, 3 threes and 11 twos.
There were 11 fours in Aston's 62 and 7 fours in Hingston's 53.
In Devon's second innings Hingston and Sandford put on 126 for the first wicket, and Sandford and Aston 135 for the sixth.
The latter waas the third highest for that wicket during the season.
Miller kept wicket for Wiltshire when Newman bowled.
The 543 runs scored on the first day were the second most of the season.
