This return match was drawn, after Hertfordshire had been set 187 runs to win in a little under two hours. The encounter between the two teams at Watford in July had also been drawn. For Buckinghamshire, there were 12 fours, 3 threes and 7 twos in Wright's 100. He batted for 3 hours and 20 minutes, reached his century with an overthrow, and was last man out. A collection on his behalf at the ground on the first day raised £5-15-6. Wright and Stratton put on 62 runs for the eighth wicket in the home team's first innings. Gresson's 50 not out contained 5 fours, and Cobb's 60 not out included 1 six and 6 fours. In the Buckinghamshire second innings these two had an undefeated first wicket partnership of 122, which was the third highest partnership for this wicket during the season. For Hertfordshire, A J Golding's 65 contained 10 fours. When the ninth wicket fell in their first innings, the visitors still required 12 runs to save the follow-on, but it was safely achieved.
