This return match ended as a draw, as had the match played between the two teams at Bishop's Stortford in July. For the visitors, there were 16 fours, 6 threes and 12 twos in Dashwood's 151, 6 fours in Coleman's 67 not out and 5 fours in Cassavetti's 62. Dashwood and Cassavetti put on 200 runs for the third wicket in the Hertfordshire first innings, which was a new championship record for that wicket, exceeding the 156 runs added by V A Titchmarsh and A S Crawley for Hertfordshire against Norfolk at Norwich in 1896. For Norfolk, there were 13 fours in Page's 96 not out and he and Garnier had an eighth-wicket partnership of 113 in the home team's first innings. In the Hertfordshire second innings, Fryer kept wicket for Norfolk due to the damaged state of Page's hands.
[Missing: In Hertfordshire 1st inns duration of Dashwood's 151.]
