The match started at 10.40am but after 5 overs there was a torrential downpour with play not resuming until just before 4pm
The rain on the first day meant only a little over 2 hours play was possible that day
The covers that had been put on the pitch at the end of the first day had blown off during the night meaning the pitch was very wet and further showers meant play on the second day did not start until 12 noon
Showers during the Northland first innings resulted in 2 breaks in play and an early afternoon tea break but another shower after the break resulted in the match being abandoned
