This match was rather marred by the two umpires disagreeing over which clock they were supposed to be timing from, and the Manhattan umpire called time by his own watch and dispute broke out when the Chester City umpire stated the home captain, Griffin, had previously said that the big clock on the ground should be used. Eventually order was restored and they played on to the time of the Chester clock.
