Quetta did not turn up on Day 3 claiming they were unable to reach the ground because of the imposition of a curfew in Karachi. This claim was disputed by Hyderabad (who were at the ground ready to play) saying they had documentary evidence that Quetta were staying within the precincts of the Bakhtiari Youth Centre and so were in a position to reach the ground. The umpires supported the Hyderabad claim. Quetta wanted the game replayed and the BCCP tournament committee initially ordered a replay to be played at Bahawalpur on December 14,15,16 but Hyderabad did not agree to appear, and in late January the BCCP finally decided that Hyderabad should be awarded the match and so proceed to the Final.
