Due to rain commencement of play on the first day was delayed by 28 minutes with the starting time being 10.58a.m. with the day concluding at 5.32p.m. Play on the second day commenced at 10.29a.m. and concluded at 5.30p.m. The third day was from 10.30a.m .to 5.31p.m. On the final day play commenced at 9.31a.m. and the match reached a decisive conclusion at 1.17p.m.
RJ Davison became the first batsman to bat through a completed innings of a Sydney Gregory Cup match.
MD Thompson, selected as captain of the Queensland team, withdrew and was replaced by DR Lehmann. JA Bolton was then nominated as the captain of the Queensland Colts team.
By winning the match New South Wales Colts won the Sydney Gregory Cup for the year.
