For Queensland Colts KJ Beeston replaced RF Greenhill after selection while for New South Wales Colts LL Gough came into the team to replace BA Rothwell, University exams preventing each from playing in the match. RM Harvey batted 115 minutes for his 97 runs, hitting fifteen fours and one six. For Queensland Colts DFE Bull batted fifty-six minutes in the first innings and one hundred and four minutes in the second innings, his second innings 72 including eleven fours.
