Charles Learoyd

Biography:He served with the Royal Engineers from 1878, serving in Sudan (1885) and Burma (1886). He rose to the rank of Colonel, and was appointed CBE. In later life he used the surname Learoyd-Cockburn.
Education:Worksop College
Other Sports:Football for Royal Engineers 1879-80. He was a reserve for England for the international v Scotland at Hampden Park in March 1880, and was selected for the following game v Wales at Wrexham but withdrew through injury.
