A tall left-arm spinner and a useful lower-order batsman, Suliemann Benn was part of the West Indies B side before becoming a regular for Barbados. He had impressive returns in his second and third seasons in first-class cricket, picking up 32 and 24 wickets respectively. In 39 First Class matches, he has taken 136 wickets at 28.47 while at the same time, in 41 List A games, he has picked up 46 wickets at 27.52.

 

He topped the wicket charts for Barbados with 22 wickets in the 2007-08 Carib Beer Series and was rewarded with a call-up to the Test squad in the home series against Sri Lanka. He has just played the solitary Test against Sri Lanka and also just one ODI against the same team, both his debut matches being played in early 2008.
