He started out as an all rounder but lately Chibhabha has been forced to concentrate on his batting as a back problem has affected his bowling. Another youngster who was thrust into the Zimbabwe side in 2005 at the age of 19 after the senior players withdrew Chibhabha did not have a very fruitful start being out for a duck in an ODI against India and then struggling in the Under-19 Afro Asian Cup. However his determined and steady batting approach stood him in good stead and he got successive half centuries on the tour of the West Indies in 2006. Chibhabha has been coached under the Zimbabwe Cricket development programme and that possibly explains why he is a technically well-equipped player who generally plays straight and has shown promise at the one-drop slot. He has had no Test experience as yet.
