Mumbai, Feb. 26 : Former England spinner Monty Panesar is on cloud nine. The 35-year-old left-arm spinner was a consultant for two Australians - Matt Renshaw and Steve O'Keefe - and Panesar has every reason to be happy for his wards' performance on their India tour.

Speaking exclusively over his mobile from Sydney, where Panesar is playing grade cricket, said, "I feel both of them have done really well, they show good temperament and skill to adapt on Indian pitches".
Panesar's consultancy stint was only for two days. "I would like to get involved more than 2 days I feel coaching is about getting to know the players and giving your time to understand them as people and then you can build on coaching. The consultancy being longer would have been more of a benefit and they did consider but they already had Sriram in place. I was grateful for the opportunity".
On O'Keefe's magical bowling in both innings, Panesar says, "he is a quick learner adopts to situations quickly and knows his strengths and limitations".
"India should produce flat pitches against good opposition and back their spinners (Ashwin and Jadeja) to do a better job than opposition spinners but if your produce turning pitch then it gives opposition team to get in the game and potentially win, I feel India spinners bowl better on flat pitches than the opposition".
"They are lovely wickets to bowl on as spinner you are always in the game either as a defensive / attacking role".
Australia's chances on the remaining Tests, Panesar says, "It depends on the pitches they produce, and how quickly the Indian batsmen cope with Australian spinners, now they got insight on how they bowl it will be interesting to see how batsmen and spinners counteract each other".
"I still feel in remaining Test matches India still have upper hand. They are so good home look at the past records. Touring India is most difficult tour because India are so dominant at home".
"I love bowling in India and playing cricket in India and love the country and passion for cricket. I would love to get involved in India as a player, coach, commentator or media role. It is one of the best tours to play cricket", he signed off.
