Player: | HJ Dickinson |
Harold Dickinson was a promising young fast bowler who made 7 appearances for Glamorgan in the mid 1930`s.

Dickinson has first shown promise whilst at Barry County Boys School, and then whilst playing for the town`s cricket club his fiery performances drew the attention of Glamorgan`s talent scouts. With limited financial reserves, Glamorgan`s policy was to give a chance to promising local talent, rather than waste money on moderate professionals from other counties.
In 1934 Dickinson was drafted into the county`s side for their friendly against Cambridge University, and after a decent debut he was given an extended trial for the rest of the season. He was then offered terms for 1935, but the club`s modest finances meant that Dickinson opted instead to join the Great Western Railway as a draughtsman.
He left South Wales to begin his apprenticeship but nevertheless, Dickinson was able to get time off to play again for Glamorgan, firstly against Kent at Tunbridge Wells in June 1936, and then in two further matches at the end of July.
